First time Riso Printing // Dizzy Ink Workshop
Hello friends!
I haven't written a blog post in a while as this term I have been buried in dissertation writing. I thought I'd do a quick post about my first experience of Riso printing. Near the end of November myself and a few friends ventured down to Dizzy Ink , in Cobden Chambers for a Risograph workshop.
We met Ben and Craig who were really welcoming and super helpful; none of us had ever designed for or printed using Riso before, so we got a run through on all of the basics. We got the chance to make some spontaneous zines as well as getting to print some of our own work. I paired up with Annie and Mel to create a 'Swag-a-zine', (printed in gold but of course) because you can never get enough swag...
I also got the chance to print my 'I was here' poster; the hardest part was deciding what colour combination to choose! It was fun experimenting with overlaying colour. I loved how it turned out in the end, the colours are so vibrant. I can't wait for an excuse to go back and print more!
(Below are some pictures I snapped during the workshop for the zine making, and of the final poster).
